You need to learn first how different kind of bubs emits lights so that you can select the correct type according to your place. Let suppose, Halogen lights give a brighter look to your place. It is used for common lightings and can go well for living rooms or drawing rooms.

Recessed lights are not bound to install in your ceiling only, they are a well-designed structure for your walls as well.

Now leave the installation on technician as this is not your work to do.
